Custom Business Tools

Software built for how your business already works — replacing the spreadsheets, the double entry, and the steps that only exist because nothing else could do the job.

What I build

  • Internal tools and dashboards. The software your team uses every day: orders, inventory, scheduling, reporting, and records.
  • Integrations. Connecting the systems you already rely on — payments, accounting, email, and third-party APIs — so data stops being re-typed.
  • Automation. Recurring reports, syncing, notifications, and the manual steps that quietly consume hours every week.
  • Software-to-hardware integration. Talking to devices, sensors, printers, point-of-sale terminals, and equipment — reading from them, driving them, and handling them when they misbehave.
  • Reverse engineering. Working out how an existing system, file format, or network protocol actually behaves, so new software can interoperate with it.

The hardware work is not theoretical. I've spent years designing and repairing industrial automation systems, retrofitting legacy manufacturing equipment with modern CNC controls, restoring old precision equipment, and diagnosing real systems hands-on — engines, electrical, drivetrain, hydraulics — so when software has to talk to a machine, it is work I have done on the bench, not only on a specification sheet.

How it works

  1. Understand the workflow. We map what actually happens today, including the workarounds.
  2. Scope it honestly. You get a clear picture of what's worth building first and what can wait.
  3. Build and prove it. Working software early, tested against your real data and your real hardware.
  4. Hand over and support. Trained users, documented systems, and someone to call.

A good fit if…

  • A task is done by hand every day and should not be.
  • Two systems hold the same information and someone reconciles them.
  • You have equipment or an older system that nothing modern will talk to.
Reliable, resourceful, and dependable software that works for you.
